Better access to health care is now a step closer for families in the southern suburbs of the City of Whittlesea with construction starting on the new Super Clinic.
At the sod turning ceremony, the Minister for Health, Tanya Plibersek, indicated that the new clinic would be a welcome addition and would have a specific focus on child health, intellectually and physically disabled patients and chronic disease prevention and management.

The clinic is located on Civic Drive, near the new South Morang train station, and adjacent to the Westfield Shopping Centre. It will house multidisciplinary teams of general practitioners, nurses and allied health professionals.
More NBN fibre to roll out in Scullin
17,600 homes and businesses in Bundoora, Epping, Mill Park and South Morang will have access to National Broadband Network fibre services under NBN Co's first three year fibre roll out plan.
Construction of the fibre network in these areas will begin progressively between April 2012 and June 2015.
The NBN Co has an interactive searchable map where you can enter an address to see details for when the NBN is coming to an area.
Harry is very pleased that even more families and businesses in Scullin will now have high-speed online access, and will lead to substantial benefits for local businesses and employment opportunities for young people in the future.
Construction starts on Trade Training Centre in Lalor
Last week, Harry turned the first sod of the new $6.4 million Peter Lalor Trade Training Centre.
The Training Centre will provide local students with industry relevant training in fields like automotive and construction.
While Peter Lalor Vocational College is the lead school, other schools will also use the facility including Epping, Lalor North, Mill Park, Thomastown, and William Ruthven Secondary Colleges, as well as The Lakes South Morang P-9 School.
The Training Centre will have an automotive workshop, an automotive small parts work shop, two construction rooms, five theory rooms, a machine room and covered outdoor work areas.
Battle of the Anzac Biscuit
This month, Harry was joined by the Minister for Veteran's Affairs, Warren Snowdon, to test Anzac biscuit baking skills with a class 5 and 6 students at Diamond Creek East Primary School.

Mr Snowdon was shown the ropes by the champion biscuit bakers at the school who took the top honours for a Victorian primary school in the Department of Veterans' Affairs Anzac Day Schools' Awards in 2011.
$14 million for Academic and Research Precinct at the Northern Hospital
The Federal Government will provide $14 million towards the construction of the new $35.5 million Northern Health Teaching, Training and Research Precinct, to be located at the Northern Hospital in Epping.
This is a vital project for Melbourne's North. The precinct will provide up to 665 undergraduate, graduate and post graduate student placements in the areas of medicine, nursing and a range of allied health disciplines.
