The Federal electorate of Scullin is situated in the outer north eastern suburbs of Melbourne and covers the area of Thomastown in the west to Hurstbridge in the east.
Scullin covers an area of approximately 169 sq km and has 87, 927 enrolled voters.
Scullin encompasses the municipalities of Whittlesea, Banyule and Nillumbik.
The main suburbs include Epping, Lalor, Mill Park , Plenty, Watsonia North, Yarrambat, Diamond Creek, Wattle Glen and parts of Bundoora, Greensborough, Hurstbridge, South Morang, Thomastown and Wollert.
Industries include manufacturing, including automotive components, clothing and textiles, metal products, light industrial, food processing, packaging and distribution, health and education.
The electorate of Scullin is named after James Henry Scullin (1876-1953) Prime Minister of Australia (1929-1932).
Scullin was first proclaimed at the 1955 election.
