Mr Jenkins said that high speed broadband will change the way we deliver education, health, and entertainment and information services.
South Morang was first announced by the Federal Government as one of the first sites in Australia to be connected to the NBN in July 2010.
"I have been advocating for local families to have access to high speed, affordable broadband for many years and I’m delighted that South Morang are among the first in the country to be connected to the network," Mr Jenkins said.
"This is what the NBN is all about- it’s about improving the ways in which we access information and communicate with each other.
